a ghetto sunrise amongst a chocolate horizon
a single wish floating amongst the long drags
of cigarette smoke
a soulless tear washed away in a sea of brown
water and broken glass
a lonely word tainted with the taste of whiskey

that gave blessings to
black inspiration which cradled
black conception in it arms

grey clouds and a amethyst sky

burdens as it picked
white cotton from brown
